The percentage of US households who own their home is at its lowest percentage since 1965. Conversely, the number of renters is at an all-time high.  According to Buildium, 2016 was a great year to own a rental property. More than ever, Americans are seeking rental housing, and the number is only expected to increase in the foreseeable future.

Baltimore is an up and coming, vibrant city with a lot to offer. In honor of our new Baltimore location, we decided to compile a list of the hottest neighborhoods in the area. Hampden, one of the neighborhoods on our list, was eighth on Redfin's hottest neighborhoods in the country for 2016! Redfin compiles this list at the beginning of each year to predict which neighborhoods will thrive. For 2016, the focus was on affordability, public transit, and charm.

WINTER LETTER TO RESIDENTS – Single Family Homes Dear Residents,The Winter Season will soon be returning! Please take a moment to review these items - as you are responsible for maintaining the well-being of your home. Landscaping - Remove all leaves in your yard, in landscape beds, along the foundation of the home, etc. Please also check your gutters to ensure proper drainage. Make sure your downspouts are attached, directed to the splash blocks, and properly filtering water away from the foundation of the home. Heater - If you have not done so already, please take a moment to turn on your furnace for a test. You might also take this time, as a reminder, to change the batteries in your thermostat, replace your furnace filter, and clear your air vents to ensure your unit is working to the best of its ability. Exterior hoses - Please disconnect. Smoke / CO Detectors - Winter months bring more fire hazards. PLEASE test and replace batteries as needed. *Please reference the smoke detectors and fire extinguisher section of your lease for more details. Window - make sure your windows are secure and locked Downspouts and Gutters - Make sure all are clean and water is properly draining away from the house.  * If you are planning to be away for more than 7 days, please contact our office to let us know in advance. Also make sure you heat is kept at a minimum of 55 degree to avoid frozen pipes.Thank you in advance for your attention to these matters. Did you know that the city of Philadelphia made Zillow's list of the Top 10 Bike Cities? Although we're a little low on the list at number nine, being toward the bottom can create the perfect situation for renters. The cities at the top of the list -- Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco -- are some of the least affordable rental markets in the nation due to their strict land-use regulations and protected bike lanes. In our opinion, Philly makes for a happy medium.
