Now that our Wilmington office has been open for a year and a half, we have the authority to say that Delaware is a great state!

If you're making your first visit to the First State or are new to the area, you may be wondering what there is to do around here.

Lucky for you, we already got the ball rolling with Delaware's five best attractions.

Our Five Favorite Attractions in Delaware

1. Lovely Libations: If you love a good brew, you will be happy to hear that Delaware is home to many award-winning microbreweries. There is no shortage of places to pop in a try the latest and greatest in the world of craft brewing.

Favorite stops in the First State include 16 Mile Brewing Company, Crooked Hammock Brewery, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Mispillion River Brewing, Revelation Craft Brewing Company, and more!

If wine is more your jam, check out Harvest Ridge Winery, Nassau Valley Vineyards, Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery, or Pizzadili Vineyard & Winery.

2. For the Kiddos: Delaware is home to many beachside putt-putt courses, and your little ones will have a ball at Jungle Jim's Waterpark.

If you'd rather stay dry, take the family to Funland, where you can play arcade games and ride 20 different classic and modern rides.

If you're looking for a fun activity for your kids that's also educational, look no further than the Delaware Children's Museum in Wilmington. Your little rascal will learn about science, technology, and math with hands-on activities for kids of all ages.

3. Firefly Music Festival: Every summer, Dover's Woodlands are transformed into a musical oasis. 2017's festival featured artists like Bob Dylan, Chance the Rapper, Twenty One Pilots, Muse, and The Weeknd!

4. Beachin' It: Small, but mighty, the First State boasts a variety of shoreside flavors. Fenwick Island, with its picturesque views and quaint lighthouse, is a quiet escape from the usual, while Rehoboth is a quirky town with out-of-this-world eateries. If you're after a wilder beach vacation, you can head to Dewey Beach.

And those are just the tip of the iceberg. There's also Lewes, Bethany Beach, South Bethany Beach, and Cape Henlopen State Park.

5. Tax-Free Shopping: Shopaholics will want to check out Christiana Mall, which is chock-full of upscale stores with easy-access to I-95. There are also three Tanger Outlet Centers near Rehoboth Beach (try the shuttle service that picks you up from the beach!) and dozens of one-of-a-kind boutiques in Rehoboth and Lewes.

And don't forget, there's no sales tax in the First State!
